In some places, this prawn fry is cooked in fresh banana leaf, which enhances the taste of it. You can see this item in the sea food menu of all top restaurants in India. Another variety of prawn fry includes prawns cooked with chopped banana flowers.

Mustard paste seems an important ingredient in the preparation of prawn fry. There are a few varieties of prawn fry and In Indian variety mostly they use coconut paste or cashew paste for added richness and aroma.

Ingredients For Prawns Fry Recipe

The Marination :
 500 g Prawns
 1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
 ½ tsp Garam Masala
 2 tsp Coriander Powder
 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
 1 tbsp Oil
For Cooking The Prawns :
 2 tbsp Ghee or Cooking Oil
 1 tbsp Cumin Seeds
 1 no Cardamom
 2 nos Onions
 2 nos Green Chilli(slit)
 1 tsp Chilli Powder
 1 cup Grated Coconut
 5 nos Cashew
 Salt and water as required

How To Make Prawn Fry

Wash and clean the prawns thoroughly with water.

Take the prawns in a large bowl and put the required salt in it. Then add the measured quantity of Chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala, lemon juice, ginger garlic paste and a tea spoon of cooking oil to it and mix well.

Let it marinate for a few hours.

Place a pan in a stove and heat it.pour some ghee or cooking oil, especially mustard oil for added flavor.

Once the oil is heated, put a spoon of cumin seeds and a cardamom.let it splutter.

Add finely chopped onions and roast it till golden brown and add the green chillies to it.

At this stage, add the marinated prawns and keep frying till they swirl up.

Put the grated coconut and cashews into the blender and make it into a smooth paste.

Now add this paste to the prawns in the pan and sprinkle a little water and close it with a lid.

Let it cook for a few minutes and switch off the stove when it becomes dry and golden brown.

Spinkle fried curry leaves over the fry and serve hot with steamed rice.

Things To Remember For Making A Prawns Fry Recipe

• While serving it with rice, basmati makes a wonderful choice and just add a spoon of ghee over the hot rice for enhanced aroma.

 • As it is quite easy to prepare, you can make it in 30 minutes if you want a delicious snack on a rainy day.so you can choose this if you have a little time to prepare.

 • Extracting the vein is very important while cleaning the prawns.so ensure that the veins are taken out completely.
