Teepi Atukulu, is not only Lord Krishna's favourite dish according to Hindu Mythology...It is a dainty delight for everyone that savours the dish with a hot sip of filter coffee in between...
Take a cup of poha or aval and wash it twice or thrice in tap water and strain it using a strainer.
Transfer it to a vessel and sprinkle a little water and soak it for about twenty minutes approximately.
Place a saucepan in the stove and turn on. When it is heated just tip in a teaspoon of ghee in it.
When it starts melting, add some cashews and saute till golden brown.
Now add the soaked poha into the sauce pan and stir in.
After a minute or two blend in a quarter cup of clean jaggery to it.
Keep stirring for a while until the whole jagerry blends well with the poha completely.
At this stage, add a quarter cup of dried coconut (grated) and stir in.
Finally, sprinkle a teaspoon of cardamom powder and give a mix.
Let it cook in low flame for a minute or two and when it turns aromatic, just turn off the stove.
Now the delicious Teepi Atukulu / Aval Poha is ready to eat.
Serve it for an after school snack or for a tea break along with a savory like vada or bajji.
