Ingredients Needed To Make Sprouted Moong Dal Barnyard Millet:

 ¼ Cup Of Barnyard Millet
 ¼ Cup Of Moond Dal Sprout
 Required Amount Of Salt
 1 Cup Of Water

Directions To Make Sprouted Moong Dal Barnyard Millet:

Phase 1: Add The Millet And Sprout In Water

Take a quarter cup of barnyard millet in a skillet and rinse well. Add the same amount of moong dal sprout and pour in one cup of water. Place the skillet in the stove and set the flame in medium mode.

Phase 2: Boil It

Let it cook slowly and add a little salt to it. Approximately after ten to twelve minutes just check whether the water has been absorbed completely. Take a tiny portion of the millet with a spoon and feel with your fingers to ensure that it has been cooked well. When the aroma starts to waft out from the wok, turn off the flame and close with a lid for a minute or two. Smear a little ghee when you serve it as the main dish for a full course meal.

1. Use a tea filter to wash the barnyard millet as it is too tiny and grainy to rinse directly.

2. If you want you can even keep the ratio of millet and sprout as 1:2 or 2:1 depending upon your preference. Here the ratio is 1:1 in this recipe.

3. Just a pinch of salt would suffice as you will eat it with other curries and gravies which would have enough salt in them.

4. The consistency of the final outcome would be slightly mushy and not grainy as regular rice. But it would taste delicious that way.
