Poondu Thokku Recipe

Here comes an exotic dish that gives a fiery spin to your tongue the minute you take a bite that comes with the perfect combination of garlic and red chili..

 1 Cup Of Garlic Pods
 12 Nos Of Dried Red Chilies
 1 tsp Tamarind
 1 Pinch Of Asafoetida
 3 tbsp Sesame Oil
 Required Amount Of Salt

Peel of the skin from the garlic pods and drop it into a small blender.

Add ten to twelve dried red chilies along with the required salt.

Just add a teaspoon of tamarind and sprinkle a few drops of water and blend it into a smooth paste.

Heat a saucepan and tip in three tablespoons of sesame oil and after few seconds toss over a teaspoon of mustard seeds to it.

When it splutters just add a pinch of asafoetida powder just squirt in the blended mixture to it.

Stir in for a minute or two in medium flame and when the oil starts oozing out at the sides and turns aromatic just switch off the flame.

Now the lip-smacking Poondu Thokku is ready to eat. Serve it along with soft Malipoo Idlis or crisp dosas along with a cup of filter coffee.
