There are innumerable varieties of mango and some of the common varieties in India are malgova, banganapalli, alphonso, javvari, imam pasandu, neelam, ottu, kesar, badami, chausa and kishan bhog mangoes. These mangoes belong to different states of India like Mumbai, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal,Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Each one differs in shape, size, taste and shades and has distinctive taste. Some are sour and some are sweet and yet some others have both the combination.

We have mango lovers all around the world and therefore all these varieties are exported on a large scale during the season from India to other countries.

Though we prepare many dishes using mango, the minute we hear the name mango we are instantly reminded of the yummy mango juice. It is not only tasty but also has many health benefits in it.

Ingredients Required To make Mango Juice

 1 Mango (any variety)
 2 tsp Sugar
 1 cup Milk (boiled and cooled)
 2 nos Cardamom / Elaichi (optional)
 Water as Required

How To Make Mango Juice

Wash and clean the mango and peel off the skin completely.

Cut it into pieces and throw the seed (in your garden).

Drop them in a blender and pour in a cup of milk to it.

With that tip in two tablespoons of sugar and one or two cardamoms to it.

Add a cup of water and a blend it for a few minutes.

Once the juice is ready strain it using a strainer and transfer to a glass jar and refrigerate.

Serve this summer treat chill, with some ice cubes on a hot day to feel refreshed instantly.

Things To Remember To Make Mango Juice

 - For the making of mango juice choose mangoes that are ripe, pulpy, comparatively sweet and less sour and you will learn to select in due course, when you try eating different types of mangoes.

 - If you want to taste the mango juice in its original pulpy form you can skip adding milk and you need not filter it too. The thick pulpy mango extract are relished with rotis in North India.

 - You can have it as a breakfast or even lunch or dinner during the season, as it contains the calories required for a day and it does not do any harm even if taken in larger quantities.

 - Having a cup of milk after eating mangoes has been followed as a traditional practice In India since ancient times and it is believed to reduce the heat of the body during summer. And quite interestingly, the combination of mango with milk always tastes out of the world.
