Relish the traditional Gurarathi Thepla made with nutritious fenugreek leaves and aromatic Indian spices. It is a must try recipe which is made with whole wheat flour and mild condiments.

 1 Cup Of Wheat Flour
 ¼ Cup Of Besan Flour
 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
 1 tsp Coriander Powder
 ½ tsp Turmeric Powder
 ½ tsp Cumin Powder
 ½ tsp Sugar
 2 pinches Asafoetida
 2 tbsp Curd
 ½ Cup Of Methi Leaves
 2 tsp Carom Seeds
 Salt As Required
 Water As Required
 6 tbsp groundnut oil
Make The Dough To Make Thepla Recipe

To make thpla recipe, take a cup of wheat flour in a bowl and add a quarter cup of besan flour to it.

Tip in a teaspoon of red chilli powder and coriander powder each.

Similarly, sprinkle half a teaspoon of turmeric powder and cumin powder each.

Add in half a teaspoon of sugar and two pinches of hing/asafoetida to it.

Blend in two tablespoons of curd and add the required salt to it.

Finally, add in two teaspoons of carom seeds and half a cup of fresh methi leaves to it.

Splash in some water and make smooth dough by adding the required amount of groundnut oil.

Knead it for one or two minutes until it becomes smooth and soft.

Cover it up with a soft muslin cloth and keep it for a while.

Make The Thepla

After fifteen minutes, take the dough and knead it again.

Take a small portion from the dough and roll it into a ball in the size of a lemon.

Flatten it and dust it over the wheat flour and place in over the chakla (rolling board).

Using the rolling pin, just flatten the tepla dough to a circular shape in the size of a small plate.

Heat a tawa, and toss over the flattened tepla dough and let it get cooked for a few seconds.

Just after a few seconds, when it starts to pop up a little, just flip the thepla to the other side and smear a teaspoon of oil all around it.

After a few seconds just flip to the other side and smear the oil again on this side.

Press the Thepla with a spatula now and then and maintain the flame in medium mode.

When both the sides gets crispy just take it out and similarly make the other Theplas.

Serve it hot or at room temperature with a cup of curd mixed with cumin powder or with a cucumber salad.
