Banana Paratha is basically a scrumptious street food from Delhi, India. It is one of the famous delicacies from the North Indian cuisine. It is a sweet dish made with ripened banana, jaggery and cardamom.
To Make Banana Paratha, take a ripe banana and chop it into fine pieces and keep it aside.
Take a broad pan and place it on the stove. Switch it on and keep it in low flame.
Add the chopped banana, measured quantity of jaggery, cardamom, salt with a little water. Mix it well and let it cook for 3-4 minutes. Keep stirring every now and then for a few minutes until it turns aromatic.
Switch off the stove and transfer this mixture into a clean dry bowl. Now add the whole wheat flour and knead it well to make a smooth dough by adding enough water. Close it with a damp cloth and keep aside for a while.
Make small equal sized balls out of this dough by making portions and flatten all the balls and keep it aside.
Ensure that all looks like even rotis.
To make Banana Paratha, place an Iron or non-stick tawa in the stove and heat it in medium flame.
Smear a spoon of ghee, and put a flattened dough and cook it till the raw smell goes.
Let it cook until you get small dots all over and once you get a light brown colour, flip it off to the other side and cook it well and tip in a little more ghee.
Take the banana paratha out when both the sides are brown and when you get a nice aroma out of it.
Similarly, cook all the parathas.
Transfer the banana paratha into a plate and serve it hot with a nice cup of tea.
